Can the Griz!
10th Annual food drive
MSU vs. U of M
Join us for the 10th annual Can the Griz Food Drive to support the Gallatin Valley Food Bank! MSU is hosting a campus and community-wide food drive in competition with the University of Montana. Starting November 7th, bring non-perishable food donations to marked bins in the SUB, any residence hall on campus, Culbertson, Reid, or Montana Hall. Community members can also bring their donations directly to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.
Please mention that it is food for the Cat/Griz Food Drive and let them know which team you are supporting. Bobcat supporters who are not in the area can show their support by sending money to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank at 602 Bond Street, Bozeman, MT, 59715. Please make note that your donation is for Can the Griz. On game day, the winning campus and their food bank will be announced at half-time! For more information contact Ariel at 994-6902 or email at teamleader@montana.edu.

YMCA Basketball Program

YMCA’s youth basketball program runs from November 7th to December 19th. They play games on Saturdays from about 8:00a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (at the latest). All that is needed is a willingness to help with a youth program and referee the most general of basketball rules. If there are individuals who are willing to commit for multiple weekends or duties that would be great. They are also looking for individuals who can do one weekend, or even part of a day.
The YMCA is planning on having 2 gyms going on Saturdays but have not made up the final schedule yet. This program is for kindergarten through fourth grade.
The YMCA is looking for individuals to volunteer for the following.
- Referee games
- Score keep
- Coach (head or assist)
- Set up and organization (office work)
- Supervise gyms
The coaching positions would include one 45 minute practice per week, and one game that would take about an hour of time. Either head coach or assistants are greatly needed. Please contact Matt Vandree with questions or to sign up.
The MSU Office for Community Involvement (OCI) works to better connect campus resources
to meet community needs. Each year thousands of MSU students provide one-time or on-going service to hundreds of Bozeman area non-profit, school and governmental organizations as volunteers, interns, or work-study staff. The Gallatin Valley plays host to over 400 not-for-profit organizations working to address human service, environmental, emergency service, justice
and educational issues and challenges. As a land grant university Montana State University
has, from inception, been committed to giving back to the people of Montana. One way in which this is done is through the services provided by our students to those in need. Take some time
and look around our website to find out about all the services we offer!
