The Office for Community Involvement (OCI) has been in a long-standing positive relationship with Residence Life to promote community involvement activities in the halls as a meaningful way to build stronger communities. We welcome calls, emails, or visits from ResLife staff and residents who wish to learn more about the many options available to them! The OCI staff can also assist your floor or hall in organizing a service project just for you!
Bulletin Boards
Request a “pre-made” bulletin board from the OCI. We will provide you with enough materials to fill a bulletin board space with our upcoming events, programs or general OCI information.

Use this template to survey your residents on their volunteer interests. This will help you narrow down a possible project.

There are many on-going service projects that are coordinated by the OCI that you and your residents can get involved in.
Community Involvement Fair: Non-profits and school representatives come to campus over two days and meet face-to-face with students, faculty and staff to communicate their volunteer or internship needs. Held every fall semester.
Service Trips: We offer a WeekendAway trip in the fall and BreaksAway trips over spring break.
Service Saturdays: The 1st Saturday of the month, October through May. Held 10am-12pm at various locations in the community. Check out our schedule of projects.
Volunteer Connections of Greater Gallatin United Way: VCGGUW is a place where you can go to find the most recent one-time or ongoing community needs.
MSU America Reads*America Counts (ARAC): ARAC’s mission is to work with and support area children to achieve and succeed academically. Get involved as a math or literacy tutor. Volunteer and work-study positions available.
