Bozeman -- Bonita Peterson Kramer, professor of accounting at Montana State University's College of Business, has won an award in a national competition for an article she co-authored about the role of effective internal auditing in business.
"Advancing Your Business by Establishing an Effective Internal Audit Department," which was published as the cover story in the April issue of Strategic Finance, the Institute of Management Accountants' (IMA) international journal, was the third-place manuscript in Lybrand Competition. Kramer, along with co-authors Hugh Pforsich of California State University-Sacramento and G. Randolph Just, a CPA and internal auditor in Minnesota, will receive IMA's Lybrand Bronze Medal for their work.
This is Peterson Kramer's second Lybrand award. In 1998 she received the IMA's Lybrand Bronze Medal for her article "Why Take the CFM Exam?" She has also received IMA certificates of merit the past two years for two other papers she co-authored.
Kramer will receive her award at IMA's Annual Conference to be held in June in Las Vegas.
