November 04, 2002
Winter Feedin' by Harvey Rattey of Glendive, Mont. took first place in sculpture in the MSU Agricultural Appreciation Days Art Show that opens Nov. 4, 2002 and continues through Nov. 15.
BOZEMAN -- Artists from Montana and Wyoming will have their art exhibited in the 2002 Ag Appreciation Weekend Juried Art Show.

The show, sponsored by the Montana State University College of Agriculture, features art depicting agriculture and natural resources. The works include photography, oil and watercolor paintings and bronze sculpture.

Submissions were judged by artists Jim Dolan of Belgrade, Mark MacLeod of Bozeman and Jill Davenport of Bozeman.

Fifteen of 32 submissions were accepted for display at MSU's Exit Gallery Nov. 4-15. There will be a public reception at the gallery Nov. 8 from 5-7 p.m. and the show continues through MSU Ag Appreciation Weekend Nov. 15-16. Several of the works of art will then be auctioned to raise money for the MSU College of Agriculture student activities fund.

"We want to thank the artists," said Sharron Quisenberry, dean of MSU's College of Agriculture. "This celebrates agriculture in a beautiful way and also helps students."
