Social norms practitioners meet at MSU July 10-12

June 18, 2008
More than 100 health promotion professionals from around the country will meet July 10-12 at Montana State University for an intensive seminar on promoting health using the social norms approach to prevention.

Social norms is an innovative, science-based approach to health promotion that changes people's perceptions, attitudes and behaviors. Participants in the 2008 Montana Summer Institute for Social Norms Practitioners are professionals who tackle issues such as impaired driving, tobacco use and youth drug use.

Jeff Linkenbach, who has a doctorate in education and is founder and director of the MOST of Us program at MSU, will lead interactive discussions and problem-solving workshops on the art of creating effective social norms messages.

Now in its fifth year, the Montana Summer Institute for Social Norms Practitioners has become well-known for advancing this cutting-edge method of health promotion.
