Retired Army lieutenant general will speak Tuesday at MSU-Bozeman College of Business

Retired Army Lt. Gen. Patrick Hughes, former director of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), will be a featured guest speaker at the Montana State University-Bozeman College of Business at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 19) in room 108 Reid Hall. Among Hughes' topics will be the relationship of global security to the economy and United States and global business. The talk is free and open to the public.
Hughes' ties to MSU are strong. A native of Manhattan, Mont., he graduated from the MSU College of Business in 1968 and in 1999 was honored with an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy in Business degree at the MSU commencement. Hughes retired from the U.S. Army in 1999 with more than 35 years of service and a distinguished career with a specialty of intelligence. In his last assignment, Hughes was director of DIA.
Hughes has participated in panels, seminars and symposiums, including government-sponsored forums for private industry, think tanks, commissions and universities including Harvard, MIT, West Point, the National War College, the Foreign Service School, the CIA, and the Brookings Institute. He currently heads a consulting organization based in Arlington, Va.
