MSU's Wang elected president of International Alliance for Women in Music

Hsiao-Lan Wang, adjunct assistant professor of music in the Montana State University Department of Music, was recently voted as the president of International Alliance for Women in Music.
The IAWM is a global network of women and men working to increase and enhance musical activities, opportunities and promote all aspects of the music of women.
Wang has previously served on the IAWM's board and as a member of its advocacy committee.
A native of Taiwan, Wang composes extensively for orchestra, chamber ensembles, solo instruments, and electronic media. She has served as the associate conductor of the Nova Ensemble at University of North Texas and the Flower Mound Community Orchestras. Wang is pursuing a doctorate in musical arts in composition at the University of North Texas. She teaches music technology and composition courses at MSU.
