Big Sky Institute launches blog, seeks contributors
January 16, 2009
The Big Sky Institute has launched a blog, "A Closer Look: Climate, Wildlands, People" at http://bsi.montana.edu/acloserlook.
According to Twila Moon, assistant director of the BSI in Big Sky, the blog was created to highlight science examining the interactions and impacts among climate, wildlands and people in the greater Yellowstone ecosystem. Readers can expect to find information and resources on current topics, from the effects of mountain pine beetles to the future of Montana's native coldwater fish. As the blog continues to develop, readers can also look for additions to the photo gallery and multimedia pieces.
BSI is seeking other experts to contribute to the blog through occasional or regular postings and by forwarding science information of interest.
Current posts primarily highlight academic or general audience resources and articles. However, contributors are welcome to post new material, evaluations of past or current research, and multimedia materials.
Anyone interested in the blog can sign up for an RSS feed or to receive e-mail notifications of new postings. In addition, BSI welcomes feedback and suggestions for the blog, Moon said.
For more information or to comment, contact Twila Moon at twila.moon@montana.edu or 993-9355 or Todd Kipfer at tkipfer@montana.edu or 994-7977.
