Webby-honored NASA site links to MSU research

April 28, 2009
A NASA Web site featuring Montana State University's astrobiology research has been honored as one of the top science sites on the Internet.

The NASA Astrobiology Program Website has been designated an official 2009 Webby Honoree by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

MSU is linked to NASA as one of 14 members of the NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI), a consortium of institutions that study the origins, evolution, distribution, and future of life in the universe. MSU has been an NAI member since 2007. MSU's astrobiology team researches the origin of life and the chemistry of the early earth, with a focus on the role of iron sulfur minerals in the transition between the non-living and living earth.

The honored Web site-- http://astrobiology.nasa.gov -- features news, multimedia, and public outreach activities related to astrobiology research. For more information about NAI, see http://astrobiology.nasa.gov/nai.
