Astrobiology and Geology of the Moon highlight MSU's fall online courses for teachers

Science teachers in Montana and beyond can explore the geology of the moon and the exciting new interdisciplinary field of astrobiology through a series of online courses offered by Montana State University this fall.
"Geology of the Moon" is offered in partnership with NASA's Chandrayaan-1/Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) mission. Offered for two graduate credits, it can be found on http://eu.montana.edu/nten as ERTH 580.
"Advanced Astrobiology for Teachers" is sponsored by the SETI Institute and the NASA Astrobiology Institute. Offered for three graduate credits, its course number is EDCI 580.
Other online courses are offered in biology, physics, earth science and more. Start dates range from Sept. 2 to Oct. 5. Members of the National Science Teachers Association receive a discount on several of the courses.
The courses are offered through MSU Extended University's National Teachers Enhancement Network, or NTEN, one the country's largest and most-established online science learning programs. The courses are designed to help elementary, secondary and community college teachers develop a deeper understanding of science concepts while interacting with and learning new techniques from other teachers around the globe. Some courses are open to non-teaching professionals.
