Jill Thorngren, associate dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Development at Montana State University, has been awarded a fellowship through the American Council on Education (ACE).
The ACE Fellows Program gives educators the chance to spend an extended period of time on another campus, working with senior-level administrators. Thorngren is one of only 42 educators this year who were selected for the prestigious award. She will spend the academic year working directly with the president of Utah State University in Logan, Utah.
During the fellowship, Thorngren will observe and participate in key meetings and events, and she will take on special projects and assignments while being mentored by a team of experienced administrators. She will also participate in week-long seminars, visit other campuses, and attend national meetings.
Since 1965, hundreds of vice presidents, deans, department chairs, faculty members and other emerging leaders have participated in the ACE Fellows Program, which is touted as the nation's premier higher education leadership development program in preparing senior leaders to serve American colleges and universities.
