ADVANCEnetwork leadership workshops set

The ADVANCEnetwork's mini-workshops in 2009-10 highlight the development of leadership skills among faculty, especially those who are not yet in formal leadership positions. Workshops will be held Monday, Oct. 12 from 3:10-5 p.m. in SUB 168, and Monday, Feb. 1, from 3:10-5 p.m. in SUB 168.
The Oct. 12 workshop focuses on how faculty can use the art of influence to lead, irrespective of their formal authority. The Feb. 1 workshop focuses on communication issues in leadership, including communicating expectations, avoiding breakdowns in communication and providing constructive feedback.
The workshops will be led by Paul Bentley, who directs the Leadership Program at MSU's Extended University and has extensive experience training leaders in government, non-profit and university settings. The ADVANCEnetwork Leadership team consists of Anne Camper, Gwen Jacobs, Paula Lutz, Sue Monahan, & Cathy Whitlock.
Participants should RSVP for the workshops to athurlow@montana.edu by Oct 2 and Jan 22.
