MSU online sports nutrition and physiology courses begin Oct. 19

October 02, 2009
Two new Montana State University online courses that begin Oct. 19 are ideal for coaches, sports and exercise professionals, as well as those in other allied health fields, such as athletic trainers, therapists and physician's assistants.

Beginning Oct. 19 and running until Dec. 11, both are offered completely online. Each eight-week course offers three graduate credits from MSU.

"Sport Physiology" (HHD 550-01) is a science-based course that helps students better understand human response during sport training and performance. Students will learn about basic sport testing techniques that use computerized virtual laboratories.

"Sport Nutrition" (HHD 551-01) is also a graduate-level science-based course that helps coaches and other professionals learn about current sport nutrition. Students will also become familiar with nutritional analyses and consultation techniques.

Students must have a bachelor's degree in order to enroll, but are not required to be admitted as a degree-seeking MSU student.
