Oct. 22 lecture to explain statistical method for ecology research

BOZEMAN -- A free public lecture on the use of Bayesian hierarchical statistical models for ecological data will be given Thursday, Oct. 22, at Montana State University.
Jay Ver Hoef, a statistician with the National Marine Mammal Lab in Fairbanks, Alaska, will speak at 3:30 p.m. in the Procrastinator Theater in the Strand Union Building. His lecture, titled "Bayesian Hierarchical Models: From Trends to Ecosystems," is part of MSU's Mathematical Sciences Colloquium Series.
The lecture is sponsored by the Department of Mathematical Sciences, the dean of the College of Letters and Science, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Creativity and Technology Transfer, and the ASMSU Procrastinator Theater.
