Teachers invited to free MSU resource fair and NASA workshop Oct. 28

October 14, 2009
Teachers from all grade levels and disciplines are invited to learn about the many free resources available to them at a free resource fair to be held from 4-6 p.m. Oct. 28 in the atrium of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Building at Montana State University.

The EPS Building is located just east of the Strand Union and diagonal from the visitor parking lot at 7th and Grant. Pre-service teachers and informal youth educators are also invited to attend.

Dozens of MSU departments will gather at the fair to share materials ranging from archaeology to zoology for grades K through 12. Free resources include lesson plans, classroom materials, demonstrations, and promotional items. Participants can also drop in on an interactive videoconference with NASA educators and scientists who will discuss the role of robotics in lunar exploration. A NASA student ambassador will be on hand to answer questions about NASA missions and NASA's role in K-12 education. Information about degree programs and continuing education for teachers will also be available.

Free appetizers will be served and there will be drawings for door prizes. The grand prize is an MSU online graduate course donated by the National Teachers Enhancement Network (NTEN) and valued at approximately $900.

The Teacher Resource Fair is sponsored by MSU Extended University and the Astrobiology Biogeocatalysis Resource Center.

RSVPs to the event are appreciated. Call Extended University at (406) 994-6550 or e-mail ExtendedU@montana.edu.
