Cat-Griz symphony orchestras performs joint free concert Oct. 28 in Bozeman

October 21, 2009
Montana State University Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Shuichi Komiyama, will host the University of Montana Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Luis Millan, for a free concert scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, in Reynolds Recital Hall.

"This is a groundbreaking event as we begin a journey of friendship between two universities that have much to offer one another," said Komiyama, who is also an MSU professor of music.

The concert program will include Shostakovich's "Finale to Symphony No. 5, " Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," John Williams' "Stars Wars Suite," and "Roman Carnival Overture" by Berlioz.
