Kan piano recital set Oct. 23

Concert pianist Alice Kan will perform in a recital at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the Reynolds Recital Hall on the Montana State University campus.
Kan will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's "Partita No.2 in C minor BWV826 ," Prokofiev's "Sarcasm Op.17," and "Toccata Op.11" and Chopin's "Piano Sonata No.3 in B minor Op.58."
Kan has performed at music festivals in Moscow, Prague and New York. A native of Taiwan, she started her musical training at the age of five. She received her bachelor degree at the National Taipei University of Arts. She earned her master and doctoral degrees in piano performance at the University of North Texas. Kan is an assistant professor of piano at the Northwestern Oklahoma State University. The recording, "Musicks Empire," which she recorded with North Texas Chamber Choir and A Cappella Choir for GIA, released in January 2008.
Admission to Kan's recital is $10 general, $5 students.
