MSU will conduct a census of employees and students on MyInfo starting Oct. 26
October 22, 2009
In order to comply with new federal reporting categories, MSU will conduct a census of employees and students on MyInfo. MSU must report race and ethnicity information in the aggregate to the federal government in order to be eligible for federal student financial aid and many instructional and research grants and programs. MSU has been collecting and reporting race and ethnicity information using the old federal rules for a number of years, and any information provided in the past will move into the new categories automatically. However, there are now opportunities to more accurately report ethnicity and race with the new categories.
When logging on to MyInfo after Oct. 26, employees will be directed to a two question census where they may update their ethnic and racial identities. Participation is voluntary.
For questions, contact one of the offices below or visit http://www.montana.edu/banner8/MSU_Census.pdf. This census will appear whenever employees login to the secure area of MyInfo until they submit information or opt out using the instructions on the website above.
