The MSU Department of Music production, in its 44th year, transports contemporary guests to a Renaissance feast. For two nights the MSU SUB ballroom is transformed into a great baronial hall. SUB catering creates a traditional Renaissance dinner with a gourmet twist and knaves and wenches perform traditional carols sung for centuries during the twelve days of Christmas.
The dinner and performance is a cherished Bozeman tradition, said Kirk Aamot, professor of choral music and director of the MSU Chorale and the Montanans, who both perform accompanied by the MSU Brass Quintet.
Paul Birkeland, director of MSU catering, and his crew will prepare 260 dinners for each performance. This year's menu features a pork loin dinner or a vegetarian option. The dinner ends with traditional English fig pudding.
Proceeds from the event fund MSU student scholarships.
