Campus events will impact parking at MSU
November 03, 2009 -- MSU News Service
Several events on campus in November will impact parking at Montana State University.
On Nov. 4-5, several hundred MUS Wellness fair participants will be parking on campus between 6:30 and 10:30 a.m. Expect congestion in the parking lots near the SUB during those times.
On Friday, Nov. 6 vendors for Family Fest will start arriving around 3:00 p.m. They will be using the North Gatton lot. The North Gatton lot is located on Seventh Avenue just south of the visitor's pay lot. Expect congestion in parking lots near the SUB.
On Nov. 12 and 13 over 700 FFA students will be arriving and departing in buses. The buses will be parked in the stadium lots Thursday and Friday and the Linfield and Antelope lots on Saturday. Buses will be dropping off students at the south entrance to the SUB between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Thursday and 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on Friday, creating significant congestion in that area. Buses will be picking kids up around 4:30 p.m. each day as well.
Also on Nov. 12 and 13, All Class Volleyball tournament participants and spectators will be using the number 2E lot and S/B lot in front of Roskie Hall and the Hedges Complex, the S/B lot in front of the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse and half of the S/B lot behind the fieldhouse.
About 200 high school students will be on campus for MBI (Montana Behavior Initiative) Youth Day on Nov. 15. Buses will be coming and going most of the day, until about 2:00 p.m., through the Streamline bus loop on the south side of the SUB.
Between Nov. 18 and 20, the Board of Regents will be meeting at MSU. Eighty-five spaces will be reserved for the meeting in the North Gatton lot during this time. Expect congestion in parking lots near the SUB.
When possible, try to make use of alternative modes of transportation or car pools during those times.
