HDPE 367: COACH APPLICATION

Restricted Entry: Students must have

1. SUCCESSFULLY completed HDPE 267- Introduction to Coaching
2. Found a coaching position in ANY sport at ANY level in which there is a responsible adult (HEAD COACH; ATHLETIC DIRECTOR; PRINCIPAL; ETC) who will evaluate* them

This course is designed to provide future coaches with an opportunity to receive college credit for coaching experiences gained in their communities. To achieve credit the stuent MUST follow ALL the guidelines established by Dr. Stewart:

• complete all academic prerequisites (HDPE 267)
• seek out and obtain a coaching position in a sport of their choice in a location that
• is either the public schools or a private agency,
• paid or volunteer, and
• has a superviser who will be responsible for and evaluate* the student's performance

The student MUST commit fully to the requirements of the coaching position REGARDLESS of the length of the season. Should the season extend beyond the length of the semester, the student is still responsible to fulfill her/his commitment to the team. Failure to do so will result in failing the class.
