Dear XXXXX,
You were not selected for the roster of the U-15 AA boys’ team. It was the feeling of the coaches that you were neither mentally or physically ready to play at this level. We watched all the players carefully and even had a guest coach come in the last night, and the evaluations were unanimous.
After the first night of tryouts, the coaches took extra effort to watch players who were not doing as well as we would like. Your individual ball skills (first touch, passing & receiving) were weak, and your technical ability to read the game and understand team play was poor. There were times when you exhibited above average effort but tired quickly and backed off. It was our evaluation that you would not be getting much, if any, playing time at this level.
We realize it is difficult to be ‘cut’ from a team. But as you get older, the competition gets tougher. You must be prepared both mentally and physically, and exhibit absolute effort throughout a total series of tryouts.
