The Gianforte School of Computing's Robotics Outreach Program was developed to inspire students to learn more about computer science. Robotics is an exciting field and provides students of all ages with inspiration to learn more about robotics and computer science.  Our current programs include:

    • "How to Train Your Robot" School Assemblies

Hunter Lloyd, Looney the Robot, and friends travel to K-12 schools in Montana and nationally to "perform" inspiring assemblies. Mr. Lloyd uses his comedic skills as a stand-up comedian to help students see what they can achieve and to motivate them to explore computer science.  Our goal is to increase interest in computer science and to increase enrollment at universities. Of course, we hope that students will choose Montana State University to pursue a degree in Computer Science - GO CATS!

The program is free for Montana schools through the 2015-2016 school year.

The Looney Challenges program was developed to provide K-12 students with "challenges" to test their computing knowledge and to earn points to win Looney Prizes! The 2014-2015 Looney Challenges program begins September 15th, 2015. To take the Challenge or to learn more, please go to the Looney Challenges webpage.
