~Encouraging Inquiry, Supporting Research~
The Diversity Awareness Office of Montana State University offering the availability of
grants to undergraduate students studying diversity in any field. The grants range from
$100 - $1,000, aiding students with expenses pertinent to their research and studies.
In their projects, students may address, but are not limited to, issues surrounding diversity
in race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, class or ability. Projects may explore a variety
of contextual, cultural, institutional and geographical intersections, including the Bozeman community, the surrounding area as well as Montana, the United States and the world.
The purpose of these grants is to support undergraduate students of Montana State University
by encouraging exploration of issues dealing with diversity and equity in areas of their
interest. Projects may be academically oriented research or may approach diversity issues through other perspectives such as the media, fine arts or performing arts.
Research of diversity in all fields should be congruent with the mission statement of the
Diversity Awareness Office, in the sense that it provides education and awareness to increase understanding around a wide spectrum of diversity issues.
