Hello and Welcome to the Diversity Awareness Office (DAO),
The DAO is here to serve you and the entire Montana State University student body, as well as the greater university community. I’d like to invite each and every one of you to visit our office, in the Strand Union Building Rm. 330. Come and attend our events, join our Diversity Student Union and use our resource library and computers! We are here for you. Your University years will impact your professional and personal identity for the rest of your life. The DAO wants to be a part of the awesome and hopefully diverse experiences that await you here at MSU.
This office has two primary functions, to expose all students to diversity issues in the form of cultural events and workshops, and provide a venue for you to have a voice in creating fun and exciting opportunities. We also are here to encourage understanding between all members of this campus community.
For non-majority students we want you to know there are people here who are especially concerned with your well being around a variety of issues that arise from being unique and diverse people, especially in the relatively homogeneous environment of Bozeman, Montana. So--if you:
- Have a question?
- Have a problem?
- Have a great idea?
- Want info/resources?
- Want someone to talk to?
- Want to make a difference on campus?
We're here to listen and help you in your adjustment and participation in this environment.
Don't be a stranger, come up and see us as soon as you can! We are looking forward to meeting you.
DAO Mission Statement
The Diversity Awareness Office’s mission is to bring together all members of the Montana State University community and the community at large by increasing understanding around a wide spectrum of diversity issues including race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, gender and ability.
