Meet the Lab
Dr. Rebecca J. Brooker
Dr. Brooker is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Montana State University. She completed her undergraduate degree at Central College in Pella, Iowa before moving to Pennsylvania to do her graduate work at Penn State. Dr. Brooker spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin - Madison before moving to Montana State University. She enjoys all aspects of psychological research and teaching statistics as part of MSU's graduate program. Her hobbies include running, hiking, and traveling to new places.
Keegan is a graduate of Bozeman High School. He took over as SPACE Project coordinator in 2016 and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at MSU. Keegan plans to eventually attend graduate school to earn a doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In his spare time, Keegan enjoys hiking, mountain biking, running, and volunteering at Thrive.
Lisa is a junior at Montana State University majoring in both Psychology and Kinesiology. After completing her Bachelor's degree, Lisa is looking to either pursue a Master's degree in Psychology or Exercise Physiology. She hopes to eventually earn her Ph.D. in physical therapy. Lisa plans to work and specialize in pediatric rehabilitation and would love to remain in the Bozeman area.
Mara is a first-year graduate student in the MS program at Montana State University. She completed her undergraduate degrees at Dawson Community College in eastern Montana and at MSU. Her undergraduate training included an Associates of Arts degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Her research interests include neurobiology, developmental psychology, cognitive studies, and substance abuse. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. following her time at MSU.
Reema is a first-year graduate student in the MS program at Montana State University. She recently completed her Bachelor of Science degree at MSU in Applied Psychology. Reema was also a member of the MSU Honors College. Reema's research interests include neuroscience and the physiological processes that underlie anxiety and sleep disorders. She also enjoyed hiking, running, and baking, and is excited to be in Bozeman to go on adventures and gain more experience in research and Developmental Psychology. After completing her MS in Psychology, Reema plans to pursue a Ph.D.
Lisa is a Post-Baccalaureate student at Montana State University. She received her first Bachelors of Science in Natural Resource Conservation and is now attending the College of Nursing and will be doing upper division clinical work in Bozeman. She plans to pursue the field of medicine and psychology at the doctoral level in the future. Her research interests include neurobiology, clinical neuroscience, therapeutic techniques, and mental disorders. Her hobbies include backpacking, flyfishing, biking, hiking, yoga, and traveling
Desirea is a senior at MSU double majoring in Community Health and Psychology. She is also the fundraising chair for Epsilon Phi Upsilon Omicron (MSU's FCS honor society). After graduation in the spring, Desirea plans to take some time off from school to work and travel. She will then be applying to doctoral programs in clinical psychology. She plans to work with children and families within the non-profit sector.
Scott began the Post-Bacc Pre-med program at MSU in the Fall of 2016. After earning a degree in economics from Clemson University he moved to Bozeman to pursue a career in environmental policy, then quickly changed direction to follow his true calling - helping others live to their fullest potential. Scott plans to finish the Post-bacc program and complete the M.S. in Health Sciences while applying to medical school, and has specific interests in neurology and musculoskeletal injuries. In his free time, Scott enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, mountain biking, CrossFit and inviting way too many people to dinner parties
