Automatically provisioned Brightspace courses are made available to the "instructor of record" listed in Banner via dates that correspond to terms. When instructors make a course active, the course becomes visible and accessible to students between the start and end dates of the course.

Activate the course from the "My Home" page:

At the "My Home" page, after a course has been pinned, under the "My Courses" widget, activate a course via the "Course Offering Information" page.

  1. from the course image, select the horizontal elipse icon to access a contextual drop menu
  2. from the drop menu, select "Course Offering Information

The "Course Offering Information" page will display.

Toward the middle of the page is the "Active: Course is Active" checkbox.

Select the "Active: Course is Active" checkbox and then select the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

The course is made active so students can see it and access it during the period of time between the start and end dates of the course.

Activate a course from inside a course:

Users can use the "My Courses" widget to access the course by selecting either the link or the image.

When in the course, select the "Course Admin" link from the course navigation bar.

On the "Course Administration" page, select the "Course Offering Information" link.

The "Course Offering Information" page will display.
