Educational Leadership
Welcome to the Educational Leadership Program! If you have been seeking a program grounded in rigor, relevance, relationships, and rewards, you’ve arrived!
Nationally accredited graduate education cohort programs designed to prepare school leaders are available through the Master's program in elementary and secondary leadership (principals), in central office leadership (superintendency), at the Doctoral level in elementary, secondary, and central office leadership, and at the Educational Specialist level in elementary and secondary leadership. Additionally, we offer cohort programs of study specifically designed to prepare Native American school leaders, and rural school leaders as well.
Far and away the majority of all degree and certification programs are delivered utilizing distance education technology. For more detailed information, please see the distance education page under Program Information in the upper left corner of this page. If student numbers warrant, instruction is sometimes delivered to locations around the state by traveling professors. Some courses are hybrid in nature, combining distance delivery with face-to-face instruction.
If you wish to prepare as a school leader, review the Degree Process listed under Program Information. To get general information about the variety of programs and the admissions process, see www.trainingprincipals.com, and/or contact our Graduate Programs Assistant listed under Contact Us at the left of this page. If you need information about specific course requirements, a program sequence, or other advising issues, contact a faculty member listed under the Faculty link found on this page.
ATTENTION: Effective April 15, 2009, the Educational Leadership program will no longer require admissions testing (GRE or MAT) from applicants seeking either a Master’s or Education Specialist’s Degree. However, doctoral applicant testing requirements remain unchanged. Please contact Dr. Ruff at 994-4182 with questions.
