
Research and Scholarship
Dr. Lockhart's primary research areas are focused on adult education, teaching, and faculty development. Her research also includes distance education. Her service commitments include the Montana State University Teaching and Learning Committee for six years, two years of which included acting as the chair. Under her leadership with the Committee, the University has initiated a Teaching and Learning Center, New Faculty Mentoring Program, Faculty Teaching Help Desk and Certificate for Teaching Enhancement. She has also served on numerous levels of promotion and tenure committees and task forces. She is currently part of the revitalization planning process for the Adult Higher Education Alliance, a national organization.
Dr. Lockhart earned her Ed. D. from the University of Virginia in Higher Education Administration with minors in Program Evaluation and Adult Education. She worked ten years in the administration at the University of Virginia before coming to Montana State University. She has also worked as a consultant in the area of employee education with businesses in Montana, Idaho, and Virginia.
