Assistantships

Graduate teaching and research assistantships are available to outstanding graduate candidates. Teaching assistants generally help faculty with the development, implementation or evaluation of key courses in the department's undergraduate curriculum. The assistantships generally require 20 hours a week of a student's time. In |
compensation for this work students generally receive an $8,000 stipend and tuition waivers for their services. A number of research assistantships are also made available through faculty generated grants and contracts. The assistantships vary depending on funding streams.

Prospective students who desire consideration for assistantships are strongly encouraged to submit their application by February 15 for consideration for the fall semester, August 1st for the spring semester, and January 1 for the summer semester.
