Application Information
This application information is for prospective students who are electing Exercise and Nutrition Sciences or Health Promotion and Education.
Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in a health or exercise science related field with a GPA of 3.0 or better during the last two years. Many students from non-health related disciplines have received degrees through our program. However, additional graduate courses are needed to prepare students for the graduate program.
Prospective students must complete the Graduate Record Examination General Test (GRE) with a minimum score of 950 on the combined verbal and quantitative components.

All applications materials must be received in the department on or before February 15 for fall semester and November 1 for spring semester. Applications will also be reviewed after this date, however, applicants on or before February 15 receive priority considerations.
Application materials include:
- Application form
- $50 Application fee
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts
- GRE scores
In addition, a one- to two-page letter of intent stating your areas of interest, (e.g., teaching, community health, etc.) goals for completing this program and providing background data about yourself, your personal and professional experiences and interests shall be included in the application.
