Funding Goals

Your gift changes lives

Sounds just a bit cliché doesn’t it? Every charity believes your gift changes lives. Well, we can’t speak for everyone else. What we know is that the College of Education, Health and Human Development is at work in every city, town or village in Montana. We are actively serving six of Montana’s seven Reservations. Our research, training, and health promotion work are helping communities change themselves in ways they might not have imagined. Through education and training we are helping Montanans lead better lives. In addition to the direct service we provide, many of our graduates choose to remain in Montana as teachers, community service workers, nutrition experts. Your gift changes lives because you help us do more.

Here are some specific ways in which you can help:

  • Outreach. Throughout the year faculty and staff from the College of Education, Health and Human Development criss-cross the state of Montana on a range of missions. Some are meeting with distance learners working toward a B.S. degree that advances their credentials as early childhood educators. Others are helping women seek early screening for cervical cancer.
  • Academic enrichment. Your gift brings a college education within reach for many Montana students for whom state tuition is a hardship. But you also create new opportunities for our students to enliven their education. When it comes to creating opportunity for Montanans, Larry J. Baker, Dean of the College, emphasizes three words: Access, Affordability and Accountability.
  • Academic enterprise. Under this broad term your gift helps us improve the quality of our educational facilities or technology. You help keep our faculty current with their disciplines by funding conference travel and research.
  • Excellence. You also can choose to direct your gift for use in the area of most urgent need as identified by leadership of the College.

What will we do with your gift? We’ll tell you. The Dean’s office and our faculty have great aspirations for the College and for serving Montana. We accept your gift as an investment in what we hope will be a vision that you share with us. As an investor, you will from time to time hear from us about what we are accomplishing with your generosity.

Do you want to know more? Call us. You can reach Patrick D. Sheehy, our Senior Director of Development, at (406) 994-7906 and Larry J. Baker, Dean, at (406) 994-6752. We have only just begun to describe our vision for the future. Why not become a part of it by calling and telling us what you think?
