Service Saturdays are local service projects held on the first Saturday of the month offering a great way for community members and students to create relationships while working to enhance Bozeman. They are coordinated and sponsored by MSU’s Office of Activities and Engagement and supported by MSU Parent Family Association. Projects will vary from month to month, so please check back for upcoming project details.
September 12th projects:
Big Sky Youth Empowerment- Big Sky Youth Empowerment has 8 Suburbans that need some TLC. Volunteers will wash the outsides and clean the insides of the vehicles.
Gallatin Valley YMCA Shoe Swap- Volunteers will help with the YMCA Shoe Swap. The Shoe Swap is a kick-off event for the flag football league and there will be inflatables, games and activities for youth and families.
Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter-Volunteers will help with outdoor/indoor facilities maintenance and cleaning.
Irving Elementary School Garden Project- Volunteers will upgrade the new entrance to the school, spread mulch, plant perennials and bulbs, stain
fence rails, dig sod, and plant clematis around the playground.
October 3rd projects:
Haven- October 3rd is HAVEN's biggest fundraising event, Taste of HAVEN. We need volunteers to help with set-up for the event in the morning.
Opera Run- Volunteers will help clean up after the 5th Annual Opera Run.
Gallatin Valley Rest Home- Volunteers will help with various group activities (spelling bee, games, arts & crafts, etc).
Warming Center- Volunteers will be winterizing and cleaning the shelter for the opening on November 1st.
Irving Elementary School Garden Project- Volunteers will continue the work they did in September and will spread mulch, plant perennials and bulbs, stain fence rails, dig sod, and plant clematis around the playground.

Meet: Near Ask-Us Desk in Strand Union Building (SUB)
Time: 10am-12pm. Registration begins at 9:30, plan to arrive around this time.
Transportation: Will be provided if the service site is not within walking distance of MSU.
What to bring/wear:
- Please wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty
- Wear close-toed shoes as some projects may be manual labor
- Bring water/snacks or other items you may need
No registration is necessary, just come and bring your friends!
Note: If you are under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian sign our Liability Waiver before participating. Please contact us.
