Student Organization of the Year - Sustained DialogueSustained Dialogue provides opportunities for cross-cultural dialogue about the influence of race, ethnicity, gender, class, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and age on student experiences. They have been a club at MSU for four years and believe when we begin with relationship building and sharing of personal experiences, better informed and more impactful community change is possible.
Student Organization Leader of the Year - Michael Boerner, Be the Match Club
Mike is the founder of the Be the Match Club and has served as the President over the past year. He has organized three successful bone marrow donor registry drives that has resulted in 969 healthy potential donors added to the registry in the past year! The Be the Match Club at MSU is currently ranked 6th in the nation. There have been a number of students that have been successful bone marrow donors as a result of Mike’s efforts!
Student Organization Advisor of the Year - Ed McKenna, Men & Women's Rugby
Ed is the staff advisor to both Men and Women’s Rugby teams and was nominated by 9 student members to receive this award. One of his nominators stated: “He is always available in case any of us need assistance and donates countless hours out of his busy schedule to help us. Not only has Ed worked relentlessly to better our rugby clubs; Ed has been a spokesperson for all club sports on campus.”
