Community Cafe Volunteers Needed!

The MSU Office of Activities and Engagement (OAE) invites the MSU community to join us in hosting dinners on Wednesday evenings at the Community Café, a program of the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.  The Community Café is open seven evenings per week 365 days per year and the OAE is responsible to rally between 8 and 10 volunteers each Wednesday evening to seat, serve, and engage with the customers of the café.  The café provides a hot dinner to anyone who wishes to join them at their building located at 302 North 7th Ave between 5:00pm and 7:00pm.

We are always scheduling volunteers to serve on any Wednesday evening you prefer.  Volunteers at the Community Café should arrive by 4:30pm for their shift and will receive a short orientation to the facility and the volunteer positions available that evening.  Volunteers must commit to staying until 7:30pm so that they can assist with clean up after service ends at 7:00pm.

Interested in volunteering??  Submit this form and we will be in touch via, e-mail, with a confirmation of your service.  Your information will also be added to our database of volunteers (this list is not viewed or shared with anyone outside the OAE) and you will be scheduled for the date(s) you indicate in your email, barring they are not already filled.  Once the date gets closer, our office will send you a reminder e-mail before your service, which will include appropriate dress guidelines, the address of the café, and a short training poster.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Gallatin County-Become a Big!

By becoming a Big Brother, Big Sister, Big Couple or Big Family you can truly influence the life of a child, and you will both be forever changed by the experience. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Gallatin County offers a variety of volunteer experiences.

Discover how you can make a difference:
Are you at least 18 years old?
Do you have a couple extra hours a week, a valid drivers license and an insured vehicle?
Can you make an 18 month commitment?
Do you enjoy kids and having fun?

Big Brothers Big Sisters serves children ages 5-15 in our local community.   Their backgrounds and personalities are unique, but they all have a need for friendship with a caring adult.  We ask our volunteers for an 18 month commitment, and to spend 1-2 hours, a week with the child.  Activities that many matches enjoy are going to the park, walking the dog, going fishing, arts and crafts, making dinner together and many other activities.
