Glenda Barnes  
 

Glenda is a Public Health Nurse who is the liaison between the ERRNIE Project Office and Gallatin County Health Department. At the ERRNIE Project Office she conducts home visits to collect data, orients home visiting nurses at the health department to their role with ERRNIE and assists with the recruitment of families to the project. She is also employed by Gallatin County Health Department to implement home visits to ERRNIE families to teach about environmental risks to their children.

Glenda received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Montana State University in 1992. She has practiced Community and Public Health Nursing in cross cultural and rural settings both in Montana and arctic Alaska. She has recently participated in the Global Eradication Effort of Polio for WHO Ethiopia. Glenda’s work internationally and nationally to populations of high poverty and with difficult disparities has influenced her efforts towards issues of social justice and peace at several levels.

Glenda has enjoyed many years as a professional horsewoman. She has traveled hundreds of miles by sled dog team. Presently she is enjoying a new married life in a small, rural, Montana town. Recreationally Glenda hikes often, backcountry skies, kayaks, bicycles and contra dances.
