Kelly is
the ERRNIE Project Coordinator. She first joined the ERRNIE
Project as a community health intern. The main focus of her
internship was to get to know the rural Gallatin County population.
She spent time talking with residents who have young children
about their environmental health concerns. This information
helped frame the way the ERRNIE group designed the pilot testing
and intervention.
When Kelly
graduated from Montana State University in May of 2003, she
moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, residing in Portland,
Oregon. There she continued to work in health science research,
but Montana remained home. In January of 2005, Kelly moved
back to Bozeman, Montana and joyfully reunited with the ERRNIE
team to begin working on the intervention phase of ERRNIE.
The intervention
phase of the ERRNIE Project includes collecting household
and biomarker data (household tests for radon, moisture, and
carbon monoxide, a full well screening, and lead and environmental
tobacco smoke tests for children aged six or younger). Kelly
visits participating households to collect this data. In the
ERRNIE office, she manages data and coordinates day-to-day
activities.
Outside
of work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan,
and with friends and family. She likes hiking, biking, cross-country
skiing, movies, reading and discussing books, cooking, and
music.
