Doug Christensen
is a non-traditional aged undergraduate student who has just
completed his sophomore year in MSU’s nursing department.
He is involved with the ERRNIE project for this spring 2006
semester in the capacity of research assistant. Doug was fortunate
enough to receive Undergraduate Scholarship Program funding
and will be co-authoring a peer-reviewed research paper with
Dr. Hill regarding risk perception of environmental contamination
in the rural setting, particularly well-water quality.
Before
coming to MSU for his first undergraduate degree, Doug worked
as a full-time court reporter (stenographer) for the past
15 years, both in freelance and officialship capacities. He
still maintains his freelance reporting during semester breaks
and in the summer months. Once Doug recieves his RN degree,
his goal is to work in the home health care environment with
the elderly and/or hospice care.
Doug is
originally from Billings, Montana, and will return there in
the fall to begin his upper division internship program. He
enjoys hiking, mountain biking, reading, and being a full-time
student.
