Every day, the MSU Alumni Foundation recommits itself to its work creating partnerships between the philanthropic goals of donors and MSU's programs and priorities. In doing so, the Alumni Foundation adheres to the highest ethical standards, philanthropic practices, and management standards for each gift whether it be $1 or $1,000,000. Operating honestly, prudently, and openly are hallmarks of the Alumni Foundation's daily work. As evidence, the following information is provided.
Donor Information
To maintain the confidence of our donors, the Alumni Foundation only shares private gift information to the extent allowed by the individual donor. On an annual basis, detailed endowment reports are provided to our endowment donors. Additionally, upon the request of a donor, the Alumni Foundation will share current and past financial records on their personal gifts.

Investments
Thanks to its rich history and generous supporters, MSU has a vibrant future. This longevity is the guiding force for the Alumni Foundation in investing private gifts for long term results without forgoing short term gains. The Investment Committee of the Alumni Foundation's Board of Governors sets the general direction of these investments and oversees the management of the Alumni Foundation's endowment, ensuring compliance with all federal and state requirements and strict adherence to the Alumni Foundation's fiduciary obligation to our donors and to MSU.
Management of Gifts
Every gift, regardless of size, is managed with the same care and appreciation. When gifts are received, the Alumni Foundation:
- Accurately records, receipts (for tax purposes), and acknowledges each gift.
- Distributes outright gifts to the programs according to the donor's direction.
- Invests endowed gifts to realize long-term growth and to provide an enduring source of support for the benefiting program.
