| The Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West is truly unique. While there are many university-based centers, none are partnered with both a business incubator and a technology transfer organization. Representatives from the National Center for Entrepreneurship and from the American Association of Business incubators have commented very positively this unique and very potent structure. |
| There is a sincere belief and commitment among the faculty and administration of the MSU College of Business that the Center can make a significant contribution to the economic development of Montana and provide a framework for an outstanding educational experience for students. This experience includes the students providing research assistance to clients of TechRanch, a business incubator serving entrepreneurs and investors. Another important feature of the Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West is the facilitating role the Center can play in helping to commercialize science that exists on the MSU campus. |
| The potential for the impact of this Center is enormous. Students will benefit from a unique and extraordinary opportunity to work with entrepreneurs. The citizens of Montana and the economy of the State will benefit from a new and potent contribution to economic development. And, as relevant and valuable technology is commercialized, the impact of the Center may be felt on a global basis as well. |
