The goal of the Annual Fund is to connect alumni, parents, and friends with current MSU students and to help raise financial support for the university. Gifts to the MSU Annual Fund help shape the experience of today's students, allowing them to pursue their dreams and achieve their potential.

The Annual Fund measures its success in terms of both participation and total dollars raised. Participation in annual giving is closely monitored by foundations and organizations that rank universities, so in a very real sense, a commitment to annual giving is an ongoing vote of support for MSU.

Phonathon

The purpose of the MSU Phonathon is to create a positive relationship with alumni, parents and friends of the university. Student callers solicit private gifts for the university to be used for the department or program of your preferred choice or to the university's greatest need. Our callers provide information about the university and current events and answer questions, comments or concerns. Student callers also take this opportunity to update alumni databases with current contact information.

The phonathon reaches out to alumni and parents to involve them in annual giving at the university. It is staffed by students who provide a first-hand perspective about MSU and help explain why annual giving is so important to the university's future.

When you receive a call from the phonathon, whether it is a call raising money for a specific department, scholarship needs, or just to say "thank you for your gift," there is an MSU student on the other end of the line. Thank you for taking the time to speak with our student callers. Your support and participation at any level is appreciated and demonstrates a strong commitment to MSU.

Parent/Family Association

MSU derives an increasing portion of its support from parents of current and former students. Many parents continue to support the Parent/Family Association even after their children graduate. More>>

Faculty & Staff

MSU’s dedicated faculty and staff make our university a great one. Whether we teach, maintain the physical plant, conduct research, provide clerical support or administer policies and programs, our combined efforts define the university for all students and for the community.

During the 2009-10 year, 325 employees and retirees gave over $120,000 toward areas they care about – scholarships, research programs, the libraries, athletics, and more.
