Providing for the Future

Endowment gifts signify a commitment to MSU's ongoing success and a desire to have a lasting impact. Gifts designated to new or existing endowments are invested and maintained in the Alumni Foundation's long-term asset pool with the goal of providing MSU with an ongoing source of support. Each year, a portion of the endowment's annual value is available to support the purpose for which the endowment was created including scholarships, programmatic needs, faculty support, and countless other purposes.

Establishing an endowment can be done through current gifts, future gifts, or a combination of both that creates a much more significant gift than the individual originally thought possible.

New endowments also present naming opportunities for the donor and are often named for the donor, in honor a loved one, or carry the name of the endowment's purpose.
