Health Information Coding
Students completing the Certificate of Applied Science—Health Information coding will acquire the skills necessary for entry-level jobs in medical settings.
Graduates are prepared to:
- Work in numerous medical settings such as physicians’ offices, clinics, hospitals, surgical centers, insurance companies, and consulting groups.
- Function as members of the health care delivery team by abstracting information from documentation, assigning appropriate medical codes, creating claims to be paid, whether by a commercial payer, the patient, or CMS.
