SUB Solar Panels Unveiling

MSU Strand Union, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Ribbon cutting ceremony for new solar panels installed on the MSU Strand Union Building. Hosted by NECO.

Tuesday, April 17th

Local Food Fair & Symposium

Strand Union Ballrooms 12:30 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Vendor Showcase & MT Food Samples, Workshops & Activities, Keynote Presentation by Melinda Hemmelgarn, award-winning journalist, nutritionist, and "Food Sleuth". Hosted by University Food Services.

Discussion on the Effects of Climate Change

MSU Strand Union Room 233/235, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Nick Bentley, local climate activist and co-organizer of the Bozeman Climate Alliance, will speak on the effects of climate change. Afterward, breakout discussion tables will commence with talks on different aspects of climate change. Sponsored by NECO and the Bozeman Climate Alliance.

Student Research Celebration

Strand Union Building Room 235, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. (tentative - check Facebook for updated schedule
Sustainability and the Environment will be one of 3 special Topical Sessions offered during the annual Student Research Celebration at MSU. The Session will showcase several student-led sustainability projects including a film on sustainable foods and farms, titled "Bozeman Eats", which was directed, shot, and produced by MSU students. Hosted by ASMSU Sustainability Center and NECO.

Electric Car Showcase

Outside on the MSU Mall, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
Check out a showing of electric cars and chat with local vehicle owners about the efficiency and sustainability benefits of having one in Bozeman. Sponsored by NECO

Bike to the Brewery - $10

Departing from the SUB, 5 p.m.
Participants will bike together from the front of the Strand Union Building to the 406 Brewery for some local music and beer. $10 fee covers live music, a beer, and a Bicycle Benefit Sticker ($5 value) that gets you discounts and supports local businesses. Sponsored by NECO.

Summit on Sustainability and the Environment

MSU Procrastinator Theater, 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Bringing together high school and college students, the Summit is intended to inform, inspire, and empower participants by creating a forum for dialogue between students, educators, businesses, political leaders, and community organizations. Hosted Gateway Youth Group (GYG), a Turner Youth Initiative

Bizarre Bike Parade

South entrance of the SUB, 3 p.m.
Decorate your bike and take a stroll around MSU's campus with the Bizarre Bike Parade! Show your artistic side while exploring with fellow leisure bikers. Prizes will be awarded to the best decorated bikes. Sponsored by NECO.

Bozeman Clean Up Day and Sustainability Fair

Bogert Park, 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Join your neighbors for a citywide clean-up of parks, trails, neighborhoods, and other public spaces in Bozeman. Free morning coffee and snacks and post clean-up celebration featuring food, live music, raffle prizes, and a showcase of local businesses and organizations that support a sustainable Bozeman. Hosted by the City of Bozeman.

Sunday, April 22nd (Earth Day)

iMatter March - Climate Change Rally

Gallatin County Courthouse (311 W Main), 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
NECO will host an iMatter March as part of a national campaign to promote awareness of climate change by using humor. Sarcastic posters like "Antarctica has been too cold for too long" or "Who likes skiing anyways?" are recommended.

The Spirit of Earth Day

The Museum of the Rockies, 1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
The Spirit of Earth Day started in 2011 to celebrate the Earth through our diverse cultures. The event offers an afternoon of activities including a keynote speaker, kids activities, and four workshops that explore the connection between spirituality and conservation. Sponsored by The Tributary Fund.
