Employment in the Group Exercise unit at the Marga Hosaeus Fitness Center on Montana State University’s campus is offered to members of the Bozeman community and to current students, faculty and staff of Montana State University inclusive of every age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, physical ability, socioeconomic status, veteran status, experience level, and academic discipline.


This posting seeks qualified barre fitness instructors. GX Barre Sculpt is a 50 minute, total-body format. Instructors are expected to teach the class in a beat-based method with songs ranging from 120-132 bpm. The HFC has two studios equipped with mounted barre and plentiful props.


GX Instructor Responsibilities and Duties


Develop and lead group workouts that utilize safe and effective movements through all class activities. Group exercise classes and instructors contribute to the health and fitness goals of students, faculty, staff and guests to continually motivate and empower individuals of all fitness and skill levels. Instructors are expected to maintain a high level of commitment by preparedness, attendance and minimal subbing.


•Teach GX classes at a high level of preparation and effectiveness.
•Assist in set-up and clean-up of GX classes.
•Learn and utilize participant names frequently.
•Maintain format appropriate certifications, trainings and skills.
•Maintain/attain at least one nationally accredited instructor/trainer certification.
•Maintain time sheet accurately and submit monthly WTE and time summaries.
•Assist in mentoring and development of GX Instructor Trainees/Mentees.
•Maintain consistent and timely communication with unit coordinator.
•Promote positive communication channels with Fitness Assistants.


Required Qualifications:


• Demonstrated experience participating in barre fitness classes (at least 100 classes).
• Current nationally accredited group exercise or barre specialty certification.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to attain within 60 days of hire.


Preferred Qualifications:


• All of the above, plus demonstrated experience teaching barre fitness classes.
Pay:
• $18/hour with no experience.
• $20+/hour with experience.
