Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted between October 1st and March 31st for Fall admission. The MSU graduate application should not be completed until you apply through the pre-application, CAS system: Pre-Approval Application Process. If you are pre-approved you will be guided to apply to MSU.

Required Tests

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is not required for the Master of Science in Health Sciences program.

International Applicants

English proficiency scores with the following minimums: TOEFL (80), IELTS (level 6.5), or PTE (54), are required for applicants who are not U.S. citizens and are not from countries where English is the official language. This requirement is waived if the applicant has earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from an institution in the U.S. or if the student is from a country where the English proficiency score is waived.

Overview

The intent of this degree program is to provide students with an opportunity to diversify or further solidify their educational foundation through graduate education that can be applied to any of several career paths in the health care field.  The program supports and formalizes the educational endeavors of MSU graduates,  Post Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Certificate students, and non-certificate students who attend MSU to better prepare for matriculation into health care-related professional schools.  The MS in Health Sciences program was approved in early 2009 and the first students matriculated in August 2009.  The program requires at least two consecutive semesters and the class size is capped at 30 students.
