| Responsible Conduct of Research - video training: |
| As a reminder, all students working on NSF grants awarded after January 2010 must receive training on the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) (see http://www.montana.edu/research/osp/grants/RCRplan2010.pdf). And, NIH training grants have very specific requirements for RCR training as well (see http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-10-019.html).
There are two ways to receive RCR training: 1) On August 26 in the Gaines Lecture Hall, a Responsible Conduct of Research Seminar was held. This training was videotaped and is now available for viewing. This seminar provided MSU an opportunity to address some of the above training requirements. Students, PIs, or other investigators needing RCR training are encouraged to view the video at: http://www.montana.edu/research/RCC/rcc%20index.html Topics covered include: · Responsible Conduct of Research—Research Misconduct - Pam Merrell and Carl Fox · Intellectual Property and Research - Nick Zelver · Human and Animal Welfare in Research and Biosafety - Mark Quinn and Chris O’Rourke · Conflict of Interest - Pam Merrell · Export Controls and Data Acquisition, Security and Management - Pam Merrell and Adam Edelman · Copyright, Plagiarism, and Responsible Authorship - Tamara Miller · CITI website demo - Sandy Sward 2) Students, PIs and other investigators can also satisfy training requirements by taking CITI On-Line Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Courses at CITI Program - https://www.citiprogram.org/ CITI Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) courses include: § Research Misconduct § Data Management § Conflict of Interest § Collaborative Science § Responsible Authorship |
