Fall 2008 Newsletter
Greetings!
As Department Head of Health and Human Development I would like to welcome all of our majors back after what I hope was an enjoyable summer. As you start your semester I would like to encourage you to visit our new web site that provides video streams about our six new undergraduate majors.

HHD faculty and staff have put a great deal of effort in revising our majors to better position our HHD students for careers in a variety of areas. I know that many students have interest in professions that address the enrichment of human well-being but are not sure what aspect(s) of well-being they are most interested. In our videos students and faculty discuss the degrees that are available in:

Our mission of enriching human well-being encompasses such a broad area some students need time and the opportunity to visit with someone to find the right fit for their interests and skills. Once you view the videos, you may find a major that interests you. Follow up by visiting with a faculty member or advisors in our HHD Advising office to see if you have chosen a major that is the best fit for you.

Finally, I hope that in addition to putting time and effort toward your studies, you take this opportunity to develop friendships with other students and to meet faculty members who teach your classes. Also, make time for activities that contribute to your personal well-being such as exercise, relaxation and enjoying our beautiful area.

I hope you have a wonderful year at MSU.

Dr. Tim Dunnagan
Department Head
