I was born in New York City and raised in Short Hills, New Jersey. I did my undergraduate work at Alfred University in upstate New York. My husband and I moved to Bozeman in 1980 where he completed his Master of Fine Arts degree at MSU. I ran a Family Child Care for 6 years while my children (two girls) were young. I went on to serve as the Provider Services Director at Child Care Connections in Bozeman for 11 years. During this time I worked toward my Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education/ Family Science. I received my master's from MSU in 2004. I was hired by the Early Childhood Project within the Department of Health and Human Development in March of 2007. I also teach a course for the Early Childhood Services Bureau (DPHHS) which carries with it 4 credits from MSU. This course is offered each fall and spring semester. The title of this class is HDCF 280 "Montana Infant / Toddler Caregiver Education.”
