Inheriting Indian Land
Indian Land Tenure in the Wake of
The American Indian Probate Reform Act


Symposium


The Inheriting Indian Land Symposium at Montana State University was held in April 2006.  The two-day forum provided an opportunity for tribal leaders and advocates, individual Indian landowners, and others from the intermountain region to discuss and learn about the state of Indian land tenure its political, legal and philosophical history as well as its status in the wake of the American Indian Probate Reform Act of 2004 that went into effect in June 2006.
